Blast Pool
The coding on this game has problems. Things I have noticed in 2 days of playing:
*When someone (unsportingly) quits the game, sometimes players miss a turn through no fault of their own and are sometimes penalised 100 points in the process.
*Sometimes people score 100 points for potting the cue ball, when they should be penalised.
*Sometimes players decide not to take a shot (because there is nothing easy on) and do not get penalised.
*Whenever someone takes a power-shot, the next player has less time to take their shot because the balls stay moving for longer, and the game doesn't compensate.
A lot of players simply quit when they know they are beaten. Some even quit after not potting a ball from a break-off shot. This kills the gameplay, and I would like to suggest that players should be penalised for quitting mid-game.
In addition I have been called "bad word" in the chat and seen all sorts of other offensive language that I do not feel has any place here.
The prize game is basically all about stamina isn't it? If you have a lot of spare time, you can just keep playing & rack up points.

RE: Blast Pool
Hello Trinx,
Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated.
As you know we moved to live online games because the cheating in single Player contests was excessive.
I will answer your questions individually.
Q1: The coding on this game has problems. Things I have noticed in 2 days of playing:
A1: We are working on a new version that will fix the current problems. Sometimes game errors occur when a Player is on too slow a internet connection and gets behind in the gameplay. This is why we disconnect Players when they get too far behind in the gameplay.
Q2: When someone (unsportingly) quits the game, sometimes Players miss a turn through no fault of their own and are sometimes penalized 100 points in the process.
A2: This is a random problem that the socket server is having not the game itself. We are working on a fix.
Q3: Sometimes people score 100 points for potting the cue ball, when they should be penalized.
A3: This bug happens sometimes after a Player leaves the game abruptly without using the "exit" button.
Q4: Sometimes Players decide not to take a shot (because there is nothing easy on) and do not get penalized.
A4: This is a error that also only happens sometimes after a Player leaves the game, without using the exit button.
Q5: Whenever someone takes a power-shot, the next Player has less time to take their shot because the balls stay moving for longer, and the game doesn't compensate.
A5: We are removing the ability to do a power shot in next version.
Q6: A lot of Players simply quit when they know they are beaten. Some even quit after not potting a ball from a break-off shot. This kills the gameplay, and I would like to suggest that Players should be penalized for quitting mid-game.
A6: This is a good idea we will penalize a Player -100 points if they leave a game after it starts, in next version.
Q7: In addition I have been called "bad word" in the chat and seen all sorts of other offensive language that I do not feel has any place here.
A7: We have a anti swearing filter on the chat window, we have decreased the amount of times a Player can swear to two times then they are kicked out of the game. We will now bann Players for a predetermined time out after being kicked out from a game.
We agree that swearing is not acceptable or necessary to play a game. This is a problem with only a few members, we will monitor the main offenders and delete members as necessary.
Q8:The prize game is basically all about stamina isn't it? If you have a lot of spare time, you can just keep playing & rack up points.
A8: As with all games the person who has the time to play more often will have an advantage, however skill is required to win a game. We also have a scoring algorithm that takes into account many factors, including how many Players are in a game, the ranking of those Players and the Players score.. So just playing a single Player over and over will not get you the highest scores.
If most Players in a game exit and leave only one Player, the remaining Player is only awarded a default 100 points at the end of a game.
Regards,
Admin

RE: Blast Pool
There is still no penalty for unsportingly quitting the game when you are beaten. I have given up on trying to preach good sportsmanship to people and have had to take the "if you can't beat them, join them" approach. Because when I try to pull people up on it, all I hear is, "everyone does it". So there is no incentive for players to see the game out.
In addition, power-shots still remain and they can cause problems within the game.

Hello Trinx,
Thank you for your feedback.
We agree it is not sporting to leave a game because you are losing. It is rude.
We are working on improvements for the game including the items you discuss.

Admin
